A proud graduate of Walton High School and later the University of Alabama, Angus dedicated twenty years of his life to serving his country as an Army Major. His distinguished military career was marked by discipline, courage, and an unwavering sense of duty. After retiring from active service, he took on the role of a special agent in Montgomery, Alabama, where he continued to exemplify dedication to his work and community.

Angus was known for his loving and joyful spirit. With a personality that radiated warmth, he was always giving, often putting the needs of others before his own. His kindness knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent with his family, especially his beloved grandkids, Amelia Gene and Brandon Lee Douglass and Abby Gale Hope Abbott . They were the light of his life, and he relished every opportunity to create treasured memories with them.

His lifestyle was enriched with simple joys; he could often be found in his favorite recliner, sipping a cup of coffee while watching TV or enjoying a restful nap. These moments, although small, were significant to Angus, embodying his philosophy of finding happiness in life's everyday pleasures.

Angus was not just a father; he was a grounding presence to his three beloved children: Britton McConnell Douglass; Laura Hope Douglass and her husband, Sam Abbott; and Callie West Douglass and her husband, Billy Ray Thompson. His love for them was profound, as he approached fatherhood with the same dedication and heart that characterized every facet of his life.

In addition to his personal and professional accomplishments, Angus was also known for his role as a missionary. His efforts in service of others are a testament to his caring nature, reflecting his commitment to making the world a better place.
