Brent Michael Smith

Brent Michael Smith, born March 30, 1970 in Canton, IL, passed away on April 21, 2026 in Pensacola, FL, where he resided. Brent was a 1988 graduate of Canton High School, Canton, IL. Throughout his life, Brent dedicated many years to the medical field, contributing his expertise across various medical facilities in both Illinois and Tennessee. His professional path was supported by his education at Western Illinois University and Spoon River College.

Brent also served his country as a military tank Gunner in the United States Army, an experience that was an important part of his life story. Beyond his career and service, Brent was known for his vibrant personality. He loved spending time with family and friends and was often recognized as the life of the party. Music was a significant passion for Brent; he was an avid fan of live music, music festivals, the Grateful Dead and various other artists. 

He is survived by his mother, Carol (Dan) Denton, and siblings Jason Smith, Becky Johnson, Kirsi Smith, and Kyle Smith. Brent is also survived by his children, Dylan, Casey, Cooper, Ella, and Jack Smith. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

Brent was preceded in death by his father, Dale Smith, and brothers Eric Smith and Klint Smith.

His presence will be missed by those who knew him, including family and friends who remember him for his unique personality and spirited nature.
