Cecil Timothy Booth, born on June 8, 1954, in Maryland, departed this life on January 3, 2026. He lived a life marked by kindness, a strong work ethic, and a passion for connection with both nature and the people around him.
Cecil had an exceptional talent for repairing things, a skill he honed while working alongside his father throughout many years. His commitment to craftsmanship reflected his personality; he was known for being very friendly and always willing to lend a hand to others. Education was important to him, and he proudly graduated from high school in Waldorf, Maryland.
Outside of his professional life, Cecil was an avid outdoorsman who cherished fishing, whether out in a boat or paddling in his kayak. The tranquility of the water brought him joy, and he found great pleasure in sharing fishing stories with friends and family, often filling the air with laughter and camaraderie. He had a profound love for animals, especially dogs, which showcased his nurturing spirit and deep compassion.
Cecil is survived by a loving family that includes his sister Carolyn Cayson and brother-in-law Tommy Cayson, his brother Kenneth Mizell and sister-in-law Ohmi Mizell, and his sister Theresa Booth Still. He was a proud father to sons David Booth, Thomas Booth, and Aric Booth. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his stepfamily, including Larry and Dot Trawick, Mike Trawick, and Elizabeth Trawick. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will carry his memory with them.
He joins in eternity his beloved father, Earnest Cecil Booth, and mother, Eloise Wilson Booth Mizell, along with his stepfather John W. Mizell, his sister Peggy Booth Schenck, and his partner Debbie Johnson. He is also reunited with his cherished grandparents, Walter Both and Lillian Booth, and maternal grandmother, Edith Wilson.
Cecil Timothy Booth will be remembered not only for his skills and passions but also for the warmth he brought into the lives of those who knew him. His legacy of kindness, compassion, and love for the outdoors will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of calling him family or friend.
