In Loving Memory of David Alan Hall
October 8, 1959 – October 31, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Alan Hall, who departed this life on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the age of 67.
David was born on October 8, 1959, to Patricia and Harley Hall. He was the oldest son in a family of six children.
David was a man with a beautiful soul, an extraordinarily generous heart, and an unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. He was the kind of person who would go out of his way for a complete stranger, never expecting recognition or anything in return.
In fact, David routinely carried extra fuel in the back of his vehicle, just in case he encountered someone stranded along the roadside. It was a simple gesture that spoke volumes about his character. If someone needed help and David was able to provide it, he never hesitated.
He was loved by so many, and those fortunate enough to know him understood that his kindness was genuine, his compassion was sincere, and his heart was enormous.
A Life of Service, Dedication, and Accomplishment
David proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he worked as a crew chief for the UH-1H Huey helicopter. His military service marked the beginning of a long and accomplished career in aviation, an industry to which he devoted much of his professional life.
Following his military service, David joined McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company, working on the C-17 program in Long Beach, California.
He continued his aviation career with Aviation Management Systems in Goodyear, Arizona, and later with Kingman Aviation in Kingman, Arizona.
David eventually joined Boeing in Everett, Washington, where he served as one of the production leads on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner program.
Throughout his career, David earned the respect of those around him through his exceptional mechanical abilities, dedication, knowledge, and tremendous work ethic. He took pride in his craftsmanship and the important contributions he made to the aviation industry.
Sadly, increasing physical pain eventually made it impossible for David to continue the career to which he had devoted so much of himself. Although stepping away from his work was difficult, the dedication and accomplishments that defined his professional life remained an enduring source of pride.
A Man of Steadfast Faith
David's faith was an important and deeply personal part of his life.
Every single morning, without fail, he began his day with his Bible and daily devotional, accompanied by his morning coffee and a pastry. It was a quiet, cherished ritual that he never missed.
Before the responsibilities and demands of the day began, David made time for his faith, finding comfort, strength, and guidance in the words he read.
This simple but meaningful daily tradition reflected the values he carried throughout his life and the importance he placed on beginning each day with reflection and purpose.
A Life Filled With Passion, Adventure, and Creativity
Beyond his deep love for his family, quad racing was David's greatest passion, with fishing following not far behind.
These activities brought him tremendous joy, excitement, and countless cherished memories throughout his life. Whether enjoying the thrill of racing or the peacefulness of time spent fishing, David appreciated the experiences that made life meaningful.
David also possessed a remarkable talent for building and creating things with his own hands.
Perhaps what brought him the greatest satisfaction was using that talent to surprise the people he loved, especially his wife, Kelley.
Whenever Kelley traveled, she never quite knew what wonderful creation might be waiting for her when she returned home.
After one of her trips to Europe, Kelley returned to discover that David had built a beautiful floor-to-ceiling bookcase in their library.
Following another trip, this time to Japan, she arrived home to find that he had constructed an entire shelving and cupboard system in their laundry room.
And because David knew how much Kelley loved gardening, he lovingly built her a beautiful potting shed, complete with windows and a French door.
These were far more than home improvement projects.
They were thoughtful expressions of David's love, creativity, and devotion. He found genuine happiness in making something beautiful and useful, especially when he knew it would bring a smile to Kelley's face.
For David, building something with his hands was often his own special way of saying, "I love you."
His Greatest Encouragement Was Given With Love
David was also Kelley's greatest supporter and encourager when it came to her writing.
Long before she became known as The Pensacola Gardener, David recognized her talent and continually encouraged her to write.
He loved her words, believed in her abilities, and took tremendous pride in every article she wrote. Reading her work brought him genuine happiness, and he never missed an opportunity to encourage her creativity.
Just as David found joy in building beautiful things with his hands, he found equal joy in watching his wife create something meaningful through her words.
Of all the wonderful things David built throughout his lifetime, perhaps one of his greatest and most lasting gifts was the confidence he gave Kelley to believe in herself and her writing.
His encouragement, belief in her, and unwavering support will forever remain a treasured part of their love story.
A Devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather
Above all else, David treasured his family.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend of 35 years, Kelley Hall of Pensacola, Florida, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, adventures, companionship, and beautiful memories.
Together, they built a life filled with meaningful moments, shared dreams, and a love that will endure far beyond his passing.
David was the proud father of two incredible daughters, Danielle Eilleen Hall and Taylor Brittany White. Their happiness, accomplishments, and the women they became brought him tremendous pride and joy.
He was also a deeply devoted and loving grandfather to Daphne, Ronin, Mariah, and Isaiah, along with his cherished bonus grandson, Alijah.
David loved each of his grandchildren fiercely and wholeheartedly. Being their grandfather was among the greatest blessings of his life, and the love he shared with them will remain a precious part of their memories.
David is also survived by his sisters, Laura and Janine, and his brothers, Jim and John, along with extended family members, dear friends, and countless others whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Patricia and Harly Hall, and his sister, Carolyn.
A Legacy of Kindness and Love
David's life was not measured by the things he owned, the accomplishments he achieved, or even the years he lived.
Rather, his life was measured by the love he gave, the people he helped, the kindness he extended, and the countless memories he leaves behind.
He was a man who believed in lending a helping hand, who found happiness in the simplest moments, who worked with determination, and who loved his family with his whole heart.
His legacy lives on in the people whose lives he touched, the beautiful things he created, the confidence he inspired in those he loved, and the memories that will continue to bring both smiles and tears.
David was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.
Although his passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who knew him, his generosity, laughter, faith, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on through the family and friends who were blessed to share his life.
