Gloria Jean Bennett, age 65, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1959, in St. Clair to the late Joseph “Pit” and Rita Stier.
Gloria graduated from St. Clair High School in 1977. On October 14 of that same year, she married the love of her life, Michael “Byrd” Bennett.
She worked at the Marysville Chrysler plant for many years before retiring to care for her grandchildren. Gloria enjoyed watching daytime soaps and cheering on her favorite sports teams—especially the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions, and the Michigan Wolverines. She also loved taking trips to the casino with her sisters. Most of all, Gloria cherished time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Angie (Scott) Karaban, Bryan (Ryan) Bennett, and Jennifer (Chris) Aliment; her grandsons: Bryce, Brody, and Easton; and her beloved grand-dogs: Fenway and Birdie. Gloria is also survived by her siblings: Don (Gail), Rita (Jerry) Heath, Joe (Donna), Michael, Mark (Sue), and Janet (Fred) Robbins; as well as sisters-in-law: Dianna and Carol Stier. She leaves behind many more brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Mike “Byrd,” and her siblings: Mary Ann, Tom, Jake, Jim, Pat, Sam, and Carol Ann.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the American Legion in St. Clair, MI from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A short service will be held at 3:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 4:00 p.m. Casual attire is requested. Memorial contributions may be made according to the wishes of the family.
