Herbert "Leon" Carnley, age 84, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully in hospice care at a local hospital on June 19, 2026.

Leon was born on August 23, 1941, to the late Omer Carnley and Alena Carnley Lewis. He was a hardworking man who dedicated more than 30 years of service to Hudson Construction and spent many additional years working in residential and commercial construction throughout the Pensacola area.

Leon will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his commitment to hard work, and the kindness and generosity he showed to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Leon is preceded in death by his brother, Buddy (Frannie) Carnley; his sisters, Mertice (Arthur) Summerlin, Betty (Buddy) Hall, Shirley (Clyde) Campbell, Carol Gunn, and Elise Carnley; his brother-in-law, Bill Byrd; and his son-in-law, Rocky Bishop II.

Leon leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years, Dorothy "Dee" Lawrence Carnley. He is also survived by his children, Mark Carnley, Angela Carnley Vadakin, Danny Carnley, Bob O'Dea, Rusty O'Dea, Frank Cassata, Lisa (Joe) Bastien, and Linda Bishop.

He is further survived by his brother, Ron (Michele) Lewis; his sisters, Maralyn (Gary) Zylstra and Penny Byrd; his brother-in-laws, Ramon Gunn and Michael Liesemeyer; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Chumuckla Community Church on 8008 Chumuckla Hwy Pace, FL 32571 @ 11:00 AM. Please RSVP in link below.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation of blankets be brought to the Celebration of Life and will be donated to DaVitas West Florida Dialysis in Leon's memory.
