James Wallace "Wally" Crutchfield

March 25, 1941 — December 8, 2025

James Wallace “Wally” Crutchfield, 84, died December 8, 2025 in Pensacola, FL surrounded by his family.

Wally completed a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy and earned a degree in psychology at the University of West Florida before working as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state of Florida for more than 30 years.

The son of Robert James Crutchfield and Hilda Stevens, Wally grew up in Panama City, FL where he met his sweetheart, Cynthia “Cindy” Price. They were blessed to be married for 53 years and spent their retirement relaxing on Blackwater River or traveling – from short trips to the Georgia mountains to treks across the country exploring national parks and discovering amazing landscapes.

We will remember Wally for his lightning quick wit and how he enjoyed making people laugh (so many jokes!). For embracing the life God gave him – every bend in the road, every curve in the river. For saying yes to adventure and fun, whether on a boat, motorcycle or four-wheeler. For the beautiful mess of a human he could be, as we were fond of saying. And most of all for his big ol’ heart.

He will be missed by his precious daughter Alisa (Adam), son Trey (Chris), grandchildren Lennon and Layne, beloved brother Eddie (Martha), along with nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) or your local hospice provider.
