What to make of a life?

That is a question that Jim Krawczynski answered beautifully with his life.

(11/4/1963- 07/24/2026)

Born in Miami, Florida, he remained an avid Miami Dolphins fan throughout his life, a legacy he passed on to his kids. Jim loved spending time in God’s great outdoors, fishing and camping, and especially being with his family. The Blue Top Waffle Shoppe has been a staple in our community for over 27 years. It was not only a local favorite where people could enjoy one another and great food, but also a place that people from all over made sure was a must-stop destination.

What to make of a life? Living it well, loving God and others, and embracing family as his most prized gift.

Jim went home surrounded by his loving family, including his loving and faithful wife and favorite camping partner, Julie. Julie and Jim were childhood sweethearts, beginning their adventure together at age 13 and celebrating 42 years of marriage. Jim was so proud and grateful for his two successful and kind sons, James Krawczynski and Joseph Krawczynski, and his beloved daughters-in-law, Melissa Gazdag and Ashley Krawczynski. His two godsons, Sheldon Jernigan and Scotty Jernigan, were so grateful to have been loved by Jim and Julie.

Jim’s grandkids, Cooper, Remi, Rosie, and Bodhi, were among his GREATEST gifts from God. One of the most joyful sights in the world was watching these kids delight at the sight of their Papa. The delight went both ways.

His sister Jill and brother-in-law Rick, and his brother Kenny, were all there to love Jim home. Many friends and loved ones benefited from Jim’s life well lived, and they were all there to celebrate his return to the God Jim loved and honored with his life.

Jim told his brother, “I am not scared. I know where I am going.” This comforted his family as well.

We humans can complicate the simplest things. Jim did not! He knew and followed God’s command that the greatest of all the commandments is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself.

I am not sure Jim knew just how many of God’s kids were impacted by his life at the dance studio, at the ballpark, at the restaurants, and at the fishing holes.

We will celebrate this life well lived at Eastgate Christian Fellowship. Although fishing attire is preferred, we want you to come comfortable and casual. Jim would be so excited to know that we are gathering to reflect on the good times and the good news of his faith.

Thank You, Yahweh, for taking Jim on the best fishing and camping adventure of his lifetime.

“Well done, My good and faithful servant.”
