In Loving Memory of John Bennett Adams
1971 – 2026
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Bennett Adams, known lovingly as J.B. or Johnny. Born in Redwood City, California, to Ruby Pearl Pope and Edward Saville Adams, John passed away on September 22, 2026, from complications of severe pneumonia at the young age of 55.
John was a cherished brother, father, partner, family member, and friend whose presence brought something special to the lives of those who knew and loved him. Though his life was far too short, he leaves behind memories that will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Johnny had a passion for Harley motorcycles, music, bodybuilding, and martial arts, dedicating himself to strength, discipline, and taking care of his body. He also had an undeniable love for ice cream and could always appreciate a good pint of Breyers chocolate.
But there was also a wonderfully gentle side to Johnny. He was the type of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need, and he could often be found releasing bugs back into the wild rather than killing them. These simple acts reflected the compassion and kindness that were such an important part of who he was.
Johnny leaves behind his beloved son, Jacob Adams, who meant more to him than Jacob may ever have realized. He also leaves behind his loving girlfriend, Nichole Irby, with whom he shared many cherished moments and lasting memories.
He is survived by his siblings, Dan Burgess, Victoria Burgess, and Bonnie Burgess; his brother-in-law, Clay Hamlet; his sister-in-law, Corine Burgess; multiple nephews and nieces; and many friends, including Josh Taylor, whom Johnny loved like a brother.
Johnny’s absence leaves an emptiness that words cannot express. He will be remembered not only for the things he loved, but for the person he was—strong yet gentle, passionate yet compassionate, and wonderfully, unmistakably himself.
A born-again Christian, Johnny recently found a deep and meaningful faith in God. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and resting in the presence of his Savior.
Until we meet again, my brother. Ride free and rest peacefully. You will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
We invite all those who have memories of Johnny to help tell his story by sharing your thoughts and memories in the guest book below.
