He was born 20 Nov 1943 in Samson, Ala to Joseph (Edsel) and Hazel R (Holley) Parrish, who preceded him in death. He was the brother of the late Michael L. Parrish and Samuel W. Parrish. Joseph is survived by wife Susan R. Albertson, children Carolina A. (Jason) Strong, Joseph R. (Robert) Parrish, Uncle Jerry Holley, Sister-in-laws Rosemarie (Dolly), Carol Parrish, Linda M. Albertson, Patricia A. (Jim) Heery, Brother-in-law Michael P. Albertson, and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He graduated from George Washington high school in Denver, Co. He then joined the United States Air Force for 6 years. He then started working for general motors and traveling world wide to work on vehicles. He finished his work has a security officer contractor for Eglin AFB. Joe loved playing golf, watching the Atlanta Braves, New Orleans Saints, and Nascar! He was an honorably lifetime member of Rogers-Hinson post 235. Where he served as Post Commander, 1st Vice Commander, S.A.L Commander and adjacent for many years. He also served as an officer for the 1st district department of American legion of Florida. He will be interned at Barrancas national cemetery at a later date, with a celebration of life at American legion post 235.
