Joseph Donald "Don" Watson

Joseph Donald "Don" Watson, 64, of Panama City Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on July 12, 2026.

Born on October 21, 1961, Don lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and a deep appreciation for family, friends, and music. He was a talented craftsman who previously owned a tile company before later enjoying his work as a landscaper. Whether creating beautiful tile work or caring for the landscapes around him, Don took pride in every job he did. Those who knew Don also remember his gift for music, his generous spirit, and the warmth he shared with everyone he met.

Don's greatest joy was his family. He was a proud and devoted father, a caring brother, and a loving uncle whose presence will be deeply missed.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Latisha "Tisha" Watson (Haley Cox); his sister, Nancy Watson (Morrie Ingalls); his brother, William "Doug" Watson (Glenda); and his nephew, Joe Watson. He also leaves behind many lifelong friends and newer friends whose lives were enriched by his friendship, laughter, and compassionate heart.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret "Jean" Watson and William Joseph "Joe" Watson; his daughter, Christine Choat; and Michelle Mergenthal, the mother of his daughter, Tisha.

Though his time on earth has ended, Don's memory will live on through the music he played, the craftsmanship he created, the friendships he cherished, and the love he shared with those closest to him.

West Florida Funeral Home is honored to serve the Watson family with cremation arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date.
