Merlin Paul Vegas, Jr.

May 7, 1969 – September 23, 2026

Merlin Paul Vegas, Jr., age 57, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Merlin lived life to the fullest—a life filled with many ups and downs, laughter, challenges, and memories that will never be forgotten. Through it all, he remained humble, genuine, and always true to himself. He lived life in his own way and loved deeply the people who mattered most to him.

Merlin is survived by his loving wife, Jade Novak Vegas, and his daughter, Faith “Shiloh” Novak Diaz, whom he loved dearly and was incredibly proud to call his daughter.

He is also survived by his sisters, Michelle V. Conrad (Tim) and Monica V. Allemore (Shane), along with the many family members and friends whose lives he touched throughout his 57 years.

Merlin was preceded in death by his beloved son, Rykin Christopher Vegas, as well as his loving parents, Merlin P. Vegas, Sr. and Carolyn “Lou” P. Vegas. There is comfort in imagining Merlin and Rykin together once again—a father reunited with his son.

His passing came far too suddenly and as a complete shock, leaving behind a space that cannot be filled.

Merlin’s life was not defined by perfection, but by the fact that he was authentically himself—his hard-headed self and all. He loved, he struggled, he laughed, and he lived. Through every season, every challenge, and every chapter of his life, he remained Merlin.

Those who loved him will remember not only the circumstances of his passing, but the life he lived, the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave in his own unmistakable way.

Merlin will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

And in the midst of the sadness of saying goodbye, may there be comfort in the thought that father and son are together again.
