A devoted Veteran, Mike served on the USS Newport News during the Vietnam War, carrying with him the values of duty and courage that would define his character.
Following his military service, Mike returned to his home state of Louisiana, where he embarked on a career in television. His natural charisma and unwavering dedication to his work shone brightly, earning him respect and admiration in the community. In his later years, he settled in the beautiful setting of Pensacola, Florida, where he fully embraced life’s simple pleasures. Fishing, boating, and sharing laughter with great friends were some of the joys he cherished, and he also found time to try his luck with a slot machine from time to time. Mike was known for his contagious laugh, a sound that lingered lovingly in the hearts of those fortunate enough to hear it.
On November 21, 2025, Michael Dodds McCall passed away in Pensacola, Florida, leaving a legacy of love and friendship that will forever resonate with his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Mindy McCall, who will carry forward his memory and the values he instilled in her life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Aldine McCall; his father, Jack McCall; his brothers, Roger McCall and Steve McCall; his sister, Charlotte Gannaway; and his stepmother, Carolyn Zeagler. Each of these family members played a role in his life’s journey, contributing to the man he became.
Mike’s absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him as a son, brother, uncle, friend, father, and Veteran. As we remember him, let us honor his life, his passions, and the laughter that will never fade from our memories. Michael Dodds McCall will be greatly missed and revered for years to come.
