Nathan Michael Groff

Nathan Michael Groff, fondly known by his friends and family as NateyJ, was born on September 17, 1991, in Cheverly, Maryland. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, and friend, who tragically left this world far too soon on February 19, 2026, in Pensacola, Florida.

Nate was much more than a name; he was a gentle giant whose presence lit up every room. In his over 15-year career as a Sheet Metal Foreman, he stood out not only for his exceptional talent but also for his willingness to mentor and guide those around him. Colleagues often sought his advice, and he earned a reputation as the best in his field. His skill and dedication were unmatched, but it was his nurturing spirit that truly defined his contributions to the lives he touched.

Family was at the heart of Nate's dreams. He envisioned a life filled with children and the warmth of a family farm in Pennsylvania. Nate lived for those quiet moments spent watching movies, sipping his favorite beer, and basking in the company of his loved ones. He had a special place in his heart for Johnny Cash and old country music, which seemed to echo through the laughter and joy he shared with friends and family.

With an infectious spirit, Nate approached life as a challenge to be tackled head-on. He possessed a unique ability to build and create things out of thin air, always ready to lend a helping hand for the projects and dreams of others. Nate is survived by his spouse, Patricia Helms; his mother, Robin Groff; his brother, Tyler Groff; as well as many cousins, uncles, and aunts, who will carry on his legacy of love and laughter. He was predeceased by his father, James Groff, whose memory he will carry forward in spirit.

The world has lost a truly remarkable person in Nate, but his light will continue to shine bright in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
