Paul dedicated a significant portion of his career to the maintenance and sales of printing presses. Later in life, he took on the responsibilities of a long-haul truck driver and delivery driver, roles that allowed him to explore the country while providing for his family. His unwavering work ethic was matched only by his profound commitment to his loved ones.
In his youth, Paul left school to serve his country in the Navy for four years, an experience that instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie. After his service, he proudly earned his GED, showcasing his belief in the importance of education and personal growth.
As a husband, father, and grandfather, Paul was a romantic at heart. He cherished special moments with his wife, Christene Wenzel, whom he adored for 29 wonderful years. Memories flood in of evenings when his favorite song would play on the radio, prompting him to sweep her into a slow dance. He was a dedicated father to his children: Colleen (Mike) Wolfe, Paul Wenzel, and stepdaughters Jill (Scott) Ashpaugh and Karyn (Mike) Dougherty. He imparted valuable lessons to his children, teaching them how to fix cars, ensuring they had the skills to navigate life's challenges.
Paul possessed a quick wit and an engaging personality; he was a true people person who never met a stranger. He lived for his kids and grandkids, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His memory will forever be cherished by his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
In addition to his family life, Paul had a variety of interests that enriched his days. He loved building and flying model airplanes, showcasing his creativity and passion for craftsmanship. An avid woodworker and mechanic, he found fulfillment in working with his hands and creating lasting pieces of art.
Above all, Paul's proudest accomplishment was his family, which he treasured above everything else. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose legacy of kindness, humor, and hard work will carry on through those who knew and loved him.
