Sandra Beasom Powley

Sandra B. (Beasom) Powley, 82, formerly of Altoona, died December 2, 2025 in Gulf Breeze, Florida with her son and daughter by her side.

She was born in Altoona on July 22, 1943, daughter of the late Kenneth G. and Jennie F. (Patton) Beasom. On November 20, 1965, she married John R. Powley in Altoona.

She is survived by her daughter Caroline K. (Powley) Smith and husband, William of Gulf Breeze, FL, and her son John E. Powley and wife, Maria of Jacksonville, FL: grandchildren Elijah and Derek Smith of Gulf Breeze, FL; and sisters: Laura Sutton of Altoona and Rebecca Reighard of Dysart.

Sandra graduated in 1961 from Altoona Area High School where she was recognized for her outstanding secretarial skills. After graduation, she worked as a legal secretary prior to owning and operating WHGM-FM (103.9) and WOPC-TV (ABC) with her husband. They ran these businesses together until selling them in 1986.
