Sandra Lee Walsh, affectionately known as 'Sandy' of Crestview, Florida went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 12, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Born Sandra Lee Reynolds on May 24, 1941 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Sandy graduated from Haverhill High School in 1959 and worked at her dad's boat dealership in the early 1960s. She met Norman F. Walsh, they were married in January 1964, and had three children - Kimberly S. (Walsh) Schliske, Tracey L. Walsh and Norman F. Walsh Jr. . In 1978, the family ventured west and made their new home in Pueblo, Colorado, where Sandy and Norm lived and worked hand in hand together in the same home for more than 40 years. As a devoted wife, Sandy not only raised her three children, cared for some of the neighborhood children and granddaughter Erin in her home in the 1980's and 90's but also worked with Norm in building up several other businesses. More important than hard work, Sandy built a life centered on family. Whether she was planning the perfect Christmas celebration, cooking up a storm for Thanksgiving, or keeping her family laughing with her silly and feisty spirit, Sandy had a way of bringing everyone together. She was a proud Patriot, loved her country and in her Bostonian accent, would fondly recall her New England childhood and heritage. Sandy loved traveling, and was often planning her and Norm's next adventure- whether it was a quick drive to Cripple Creek to try their luck at the slots, a weekend stay in Boulder to cheer on the CU Buffs, or a week in the Bahamas to soak up the sun. Even after Norm's passing in August 2018, Sandy kept up her routine, stopping at the business, bank, post office, and the grocery store, all while planning her next 'trip', until she suffered a stroke in November 2020. In June 2022, she moved to Crestview, Florida to live with her daughter Kim, son in law Justin, and loyal feline companion Tiger. Everyone who knew Sandy knew of her deep love for animals, from stories of her childhood pet racoon, visiting and snuggling with wolves at a wolf sanctuary, her rescuing and adopting many cats and kittens over the years, or all the other wildlife (birds, skunks and squirrels) her cat Blackjack would escort up to the front door in Pueblo for a little morsel. In Jan 2023, Sandy had a life altering fall, necessitating her residence at Silvercrest Nursing Home in Crestview, where she met and made many new friends who she considered family. She enjoyed reading, playing (and winning) Bingo, making crafts, singing Karaoke, occasional restaurant and VFW outings, but especially Bible study, Prayers and Worship. Sandy was proud and comforted of her decision to be Baptized on May 17, 2023. Those left to cherish her memory and "Love You Piles" are her children Kim (Justin), Tracey, Norm Jr.; grandchildren Erin (Ari), Dustin, Hannah, Donovan, Simone, Michael (Sarah), Adam, Miranda; great grandchildren Liam, Weston, Silas; and many friends along her journey. Donations in Sandy's memory may be directed to your favorite animal charity or rescue of your choice.
